Flexible Corner Joints

The flexible corner joints connect the straight pole sections and can be carefully adjusted by hand to accommodate bay window angles between 110° and 180°.

This allows the pole to follow the shape of your bay window while enabling the passing rings to travel around the corners.

Please note that the joints are not suitable for sharp 90° angles, as these can restrict curtain movement and cause the rings to catch.

Curtain Rings

The Elvora 28mm bay window curtain pole is supplied with passing rings designed to travel over the passing brackets and around the bay window corners, allowing curtains to move across all three sections of the pole.

The passing rings are unlined, so some metal-on-metal contact, friction and resistance should be expected, particularly when drawing curtains around the bends. For smoother operation, we recommend gently guiding the curtains around the corners rather than pulling downwards on the rings.

A small number of nylon-lined standard rings are also included to prevent the curtains from travelling beyond the end brackets. These rings cannot pass over the passing brackets.

The quantity of each type of ring supplied depends on the selected kit size.

Choice of Wall-Fix or Ceiling-Fix Brackets

The Elvora 28mm bay window curtain pole is available with either wall-fix or ceiling-fix brackets, which can be selected from the dropdown menu before ordering.

Customers should check that their chosen brackets are suitable for their particular bay window, considering the available fixing space, bracket dimensions, projection and any surrounding obstructions.

As bay windows vary in shape and construction, we cannot guarantee that every bracket option will be suitable for every installation. If you are unsure, we recommend contacting us with your measurements before purchasing.

Suitable for Pleated Curtains

This bay window curtain pole is suitable for light to medium-weight pleated curtains, including pencil pleat curtains, which attach to the supplied rings using curtain hooks.

It is not suitable for eyelet curtains, as these cannot travel over the brackets or around the bay window corners.

We do not recommend this system for particularly tall windows where the curtain rings cannot be comfortably reached and guided around the bends. Excessive downward pressure on the passing rings can increase friction against the pole and brackets, making the curtains more difficult to operate.

For the best results, curtains should be moved gently and guided around the corners where necessary.

Installation and Assembly

The individual pole sections will need to be measured and cut to the required lengths during installation. We recommend using a fine-tooth hacksaw and carefully checking all measurements before cutting.

The flexible corner joints should be adjusted to match the angles of your bay window before the pole sections are secured into position.

This Elvora bay window curtain pole kit is supplied in separate components and will be dispatched in two separate consignments. These may be delivered by different couriers and could arrive on different days.

Please do not be concerned if only part of your order arrives initially. The remaining components will be delivered separately.
