Speedy 28mm Stud 3 Sided Bay Window Curtain Pole Antique Brass

The Speedy 28mm Stud 3-Sided Bay Window Curtain Pole in Antique Brass combines a traditional warm metallic finish with compact Stud finials for a simple, understated appearance. Designed specifically for 3-sided bay windows, this metal curtain pole system is suitable for light to medium-weight curtains and uses passing rings and brackets to allow curtains to travel across the different sections of the bay.

The Antique Brass colour has a warm, aged brass appearance rather than a bright or highly polished gold finish. As expectations of what constitutes an antique brass finish can vary, we recommend using the product images as a guide to the appearance of the finish before ordering.

This bay pole is supplied as separate components for assembly and cutting to size during installation. The pole sections are not pre-cut to your individual bay window measurements, so you or your fitter will need to measure the bay and cut the poles to the required lengths using a fine-tooth hacksaw.

The complete set includes 28mm metal poles, Stud finials, nylon-lined passing rings, a small number of full curtain rings, corner joints and your choice of wall-fix or ceiling-fix passing brackets.

Smooth Passing Rings

The nylon-lined passing rings provide a smoother, quieter glide along the pole. Their C-shaped design allows the rings to pass over the specially designed passing brackets, enabling the curtains to travel across the different sections of the bay.

A small number of full curtain rings are also supplied to prevent the curtains from passing beyond the end brackets, keeping them correctly positioned on the pole.

For best performance, we recommend using curtains with a tightly gathered heading. Curtain hooks should be positioned in the top pocket of the curtain tape so that the curtains sit neatly beneath the passing rings.

The corner joints connect the pole sections at each angle of the bay and allow the passing rings to travel around the bends.

Please note: this system is not suitable for bay windows with 90-degree angles.

Choosing the Correct Size

This 3-sided bay window curtain pole is available in different overall lengths, with a different combination of pole sections supplied depending on the size selected.

The size shown is the total length of pole supplied across all sections. It does not represent the individual length of each side of your bay window.

Examples of pole lengths supplied:

• 400cm set — 2 poles, each measuring 200cm

• 600cm set — 3 poles, each measuring 200cm

Before ordering, please check the individual pole lengths supplied with your chosen size in the specification table below and make sure they can be cut to suit all three sections of your bay window.

The pole sections can be shortened but cannot be made longer, so it is important to check the pole combination supplied against your bay window measurements before ordering.

Installation Information

The kit is available with a choice of wall-fix or ceiling-fix passing brackets, which can be selected when adding the product to your basket.

The adjustable wall-fix brackets project between 110mm and 140mm from the wall, providing flexibility during installation. Alternatively, ceiling-fix brackets can be selected where fixing directly to the ceiling is preferred or wall fixing is unsuitable.

Wall and ceiling fixing screws and plugs are not supplied. Suitable fixings should be selected according to the construction and condition of the surface where the brackets will be installed.

Important Information

This bay window curtain pole is not suitable for eyelet curtains.

We do not recommend this system for very tall windows where the curtain rings cannot be comfortably reached and guided around the bends. Pulling the curtains from significantly below pole level can place additional downward pressure on the rings, increasing friction against the pole and passing components and making the curtains more difficult to operate.

Please check your bay window angles, measurements, individual pole lengths and suitability carefully before ordering.

Important: This bay window curtain pole is not suitable for eyelet curtains and should not be installed on tall windows where the rings cannot be comfortably guided around the bends. Excessive downward pressure on the rings can increase friction against the pole and brackets, resulting in reduced curtain glide and more difficult operation.
