Speedy 28mm Bella 3 Sided Bay Window Pole Antique Brass

The Speedy 28mm Bella 3-Sided Bay Window Curtain Pole in Antique Brass brings together classic metallic styling and sparkling glass detailing to create an elegant curtain pole for three-sided bay windows. Featuring distinctive faceted glass ball finials mounted on antique brass fittings, this decorative metal pole adds an attractive finishing touch while providing a practical solution for hanging curtains around a bay.

The Bella finials feature clear, multi-faceted glass spheres that catch and reflect the light, creating a subtle sparkle at either end of the pole. The combination of transparent glass and warm antique brass offers a timeless appearance that works beautifully with traditional interiors, luxurious fabrics and neutral colour schemes. Designed for light to medium-weight curtains, the 28mm metal pole uses a specially designed passing ring system to allow curtains to travel around the angles of the bay.

This bay pole is supplied as separate components for assembly and cutting to size during installation. The pole sections are not pre-cut to your individual bay window measurements, so you or your fitter will need to measure the bay and cut the poles to the required lengths using a fine-tooth hacksaw.

The complete set includes 28mm metal poles, Bella glass ball finials, nylon-lined passing rings, a small number of full curtain rings, corner joints and your choice of wall-fix or ceiling-fix passing brackets.

Smooth Passing Rings

The supplied nylon-lined passing rings help curtains glide smoothly and quietly along the pole. Their specially shaped, C-shaped design allows them to pass over compatible passing brackets, enabling curtains to move around the three sections of the bay without being stopped by intermediate supports.

A small number of full curtain rings are also included to prevent the curtains from travelling beyond the end brackets, keeping them correctly positioned at either end of the pole.

For the best results, we recommend using curtains with a tightly gathered heading. Curtain hooks should be positioned in the top pocket of the curtain heading tape, allowing the curtains to hang neatly beneath the passing rings. This helps minimise downward pressure on the rings and makes it easier for them to travel around the bends.

The corner joints connect the straight pole sections at the two angles of the bay, creating a continuous curtain pole system that follows the shape of your window while allowing the passing rings to move around each corner.

A-Frame Bracket System

The Speedy 28mm Bella bay window curtain pole is supplied with Speedy's A-Frame bracket system, combining a decorative angular design with strong, reliable support. These brackets complement the antique brass pole and glass finials while allowing the curtains to move freely around the bay.

Each kit includes three A-Frame standard brackets, positioned at both ends of the pole and in the centre. These feature Speedy's Quick Lock system with a rubber lug, which holds the pole securely in position without the need for conventional fixing screws through the pole.

The remaining brackets are A-Frame passing supports, positioned between the standard brackets to provide additional support. The pole simply rests on these supports, allowing the specially designed passing rings to travel over them without obstruction.

The wall-fix A-Frame brackets are adjustable in projection, allowing the distance between the wall and curtain pole to be altered to suit your installation requirements.

Alternatively, ceiling-fix A-Frame brackets are available and can be selected when adding the product to your basket. Both fixing options are supplied with the same number of brackets for your chosen pole size.

Please note: this system is not suitable for bay windows with 90-degree angles.

Choosing the Correct Size

This three-sided bay window curtain pole is available in different overall lengths, with the number and combination of straight pole sections depending on the size selected.

The size shown represents the total length of pole supplied across all three sections, rather than the individual width of each section of your bay window.

Examples of pole lengths supplied:

• 400cm set – 2 poles, each measuring 200cm

• 600cm set – 3 poles, each measuring 200cm

Before ordering, measure each of the three straight sections of your bay window and check the individual pole lengths supplied with your chosen size in the specification table below.

The metal poles can be cut to the required lengths using a fine-tooth hacksaw, allowing them to be adjusted to fit your particular bay window.

The pole sections can be shortened but cannot be made longer. It is therefore important to check that the combination of lengths supplied will accommodate your measurements, especially if the centre section of your bay is considerably wider than the sides.

Installation Information

The Speedy 28mm Bella bay window curtain pole is available with a choice of wall-fix or ceiling-fix A-Frame passing brackets, which can be selected when adding the product to your basket.

The adjustable wall-fix brackets project between 110mm and 140mm from the wall, providing flexibility when positioning the pole and allowing sufficient clearance for your curtains.

Ceiling-fix brackets offer an alternative where wall mounting is unsuitable or where you prefer to install the curtain pole directly beneath the ceiling.

Wall and ceiling fixing screws and plugs are not supplied. You will need to source suitable fixings appropriate for the construction and condition of your wall or ceiling.

For wall mounting, the fixings must be capable of securely supporting the combined weight of the curtain pole and curtains.

For ceiling mounting, you must ensure that the ceiling provides adequate support. The appropriate fixings will depend on whether the brackets are being secured

Important: This bay window curtain pole is not suitable for eyelet curtains and should not be installed on tall windows where the rings cannot be comfortably guided around the bends. Excessive downward pressure on the rings can increase friction against the pole and brackets, resulting in reduced curtain glide and more difficult operation.
