Speedy 19mm Eyelet Bay Window Pole Antique Brass

The Speedy 19mm Eyelet Bay Window Pole in Antique Brass is designed specifically for eyelet curtains in 3-sided bay windows, providing a continuous pole around the bay without the passing rings and passing brackets used on conventional bay window pole systems.

The Antique Brass finish has a warm, aged brass appearance, complemented by decorative Ball finials at each end of the pole. This classic combination works particularly well in traditional interiors and alongside other antique brass fittings and accessories. We recommend using the product images as a guide to the appearance of the finish before ordering.

Unlike a standard bay pole with separate corner joints, this system uses specially designed serrated pole sections that are bent during installation to create the two corners of the bay. The kit is supplied with two 200cm poles, providing 400cm of pole in total.

Designed for Eyelet Curtains

This pole has been specifically designed for use with eyelet curtains, so no curtain rings are required or supplied.

The brackets are positioned away from the two bends, allowing the eyelet curtains to travel around the corners of the bay without being obstructed by a bracket.

Serrated Sections for Bending

Each 200cm pole has a serrated section specifically designed to create the bend required for your bay window. The serrated section is positioned approximately 80cm from one end of the pole and 120cm from the other, providing flexibility when configuring the two poles to suit your bay.

It is extremely important that the pole is bent in the correct direction. The serrations must be positioned on the inside of the bend, meaning the pole can only be bent inwards towards the serrated section.

Do not attempt to bend the pole in the opposite direction. Bending the pole the wrong way will damage it and can make the pole unusable.

We strongly recommend planning the orientation of both pole sections and the position of each bend before cutting or bending either pole.

Choosing the Correct Size

This eyelet bay window pole is available in one size only:

• 2 x 200cm poles
• 400cm total pole length
• 5 wall-fix brackets
• 1 joining piece
• 2 Ball finials
• No curtain rings

The 400cm measurement refers to the total amount of pole supplied across the three sections of the bay, rather than the width of the complete bay or any individual section.

As 3-sided bay windows vary considerably in size, you will need to measure all three sections of your bay and cut the poles to the required lengths using a fine-tooth hacksaw. The poles can be shortened but cannot be made longer, so check that the supplied pole lengths and the positions of the serrated sections will work with your individual bay measurements before ordering.

Joining the Two Pole Sections

A joining piece is supplied to connect the two 200cm pole sections. This allows the two poles to form one continuous 3-sided bay window pole once they have been correctly positioned, bent and cut to size.

The join should be positioned at the centre support bracket so that it is properly supported once the pole is installed.

Brackets and Installation

Five wall-fix brackets are supplied. The system uses one bracket at the centre of the bay and two brackets at each outer end, avoiding the need for brackets at the two corners and allowing the eyelet curtains to travel around the bends.

This product requires measuring, cutting, bending, assembly and installation by the customer or their chosen fitter.

Important Information

Before cutting or bending either pole, carefully check:

• The measurements of all three sections of your bay
• The location of both serrated bending sections
• Which way each pole needs to face
• That the serrations will be on the inside of each bend
• The position of the centre join and supporting bracket

The direction of the bend is particularly important. The pole must always be bent towards the serrated side. If the pole is bent in the opposite direction, it will be damaged and may no longer be usable.
