The Speedy 35mm End Cap 5-Sided Bay Window Curtain Pole in Antique Brass is designed for larger 5-sided bay windows, combining a warm, traditional finish with simple End Cap finials for a neat, understated appearance. The passing ring system allows the curtains to travel across the different sections of the bay and around each of the four angled corners.

The Antique Brass finish has a warm, aged brass appearance, while the simple End Cap finials give the pole a clean, streamlined look. This makes it a versatile choice for traditional and classic interiors where a less decorative finial is preferred. We recommend using the product images as a guide to the appearance of the finish before ordering.

This bay pole is supplied as separate components for assembly and cutting to size during installation. The pole sections are not pre-cut to your individual bay window measurements, so you or your fitter will need to measure each section of the bay and cut the poles to the required lengths using a fine-tooth hacksaw.

The complete set includes 35mm metal poles, End Cap finials, nylon-lined passing rings, adjustable wall-fix passing brackets and four corner joints.

Smooth Passing Rings

The nylon-lined passing rings provide a smoother, quieter glide along the pole. Their C-shaped design allows the rings to pass over the specially designed passing brackets, enabling the curtains to travel across the different sections of the bay.

For best performance, we recommend using curtains with a tightly gathered heading. Curtain hooks should be positioned in the top pocket of the curtain tape so that the curtains sit neatly beneath the passing rings. This helps prevent the weight of the curtain pulling down on the rings as they travel over the brackets.

Adjustable Corner Joints

The four corner joints connect the five sections of the bay and allow the passing rings to travel around each bend.

Each corner joint can be adjusted to accommodate angles up to 60 degrees, allowing the pole to be configured to suit a wide range of 5-sided bay window shapes. The angle of each joint should be set during installation to match the individual angles of your bay window.

Choosing the Correct Size

This 5-sided bay window curtain pole is available in 400cm and 600cm overall kit sizes. The size selected represents the total amount of pole supplied across all five sections of the bay, rather than the length of any individual section.

The 400cm kit is supplied with:

• 2 x 200cm poles
• 40 passing rings
• 7 brackets
• 4 corner joints

The 600cm kit is supplied with:

• 3 x 200cm poles
• 60 passing rings
• 7 brackets
• 4 corner joints

Before ordering, measure all five sections of your bay window and check that the pole lengths supplied can be configured and cut to suit your individual measurements. The poles can be shortened using a fine-tooth hacksaw, but they cannot be made longer.

Where a straight section requires more than one length of pole, the pole sections will need to be joined and supported appropriately during installation.

Installation Information

This 5-sided bay window curtain pole requires cutting, assembly and installation by the customer or their chosen fitter.

The supplied passing brackets are wall-fix only and cannot be used for ceiling fixing. The brackets have an adjustable projection of 90–125mm.

Wall fixing screws and plugs are not supplied. Suitable fixings should be selected according to the construction and condition of the wall where the brackets will be installed.

Important Information

This bay window curtain pole is not suitable for eyelet curtains and is designed for medium to heavy weight curtains.

We do not recommend this system for very tall windows where the curtain rings cannot be comfortably reached and guided around the bends. Pulling the curtains from significantly below pole level can place additional downward pressure on the rings, increasing friction against the pole, brackets and corner joints and making the curtains more difficult to operate.

Please check your bay window angles, measurements, individual section lengths and suitability carefully before ordering.

Wall fixing screws and plugs are not supplied. Suitable fixings should be selected according to the construction and condition of the wall where the brackets will be installed.

Important: This bay window curtain pole is not suitable for eyelet curtains and should not be installed on tall windows where the rings cannot be comfortably guided around the bends. Excessive downward pressure on the rings can increase friction against the pole and brackets, resulting in reduced curtain glide and more difficult operation.
